About Me

On the third day of my life I became an international travel.  Born in the border town of El Paso, Texas, we lived in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.  Shortly after my last sibling was born, we moved to California where my formative years were spent in Southern California and my adult years in Northern California.  Throughout my journey, one thing has remained constant and that is my love for entertaining.  My first memory of that was creating morning radio shows with my brother and sister.  We would assign segments to each other: intro to songs, weather reports, commercials and interview.  We would distribute these to our family and friends on our bikes.  The cherry on top was playing and learning from each other.

Education has always been a huge part of my life, whether formal or informal.  Being the first in my family to obtain a college degree and the knowledge that I have inspired many of my cousins to seek higher education has made me proud.  I received my BA in Sociology from U.C. Santa Cruz (Go Banana Slugs!!!) and recently earned my MFA in Acting from the Academy of Art University.  Informally I have learned from my various careers as a paralegal, staff accountant and insurance agent. I have learned from my family, siblings, friends and the tribe.  My journey through all this has had a profound influence in my acting or as I call it living truthfully in imaginary circumstances.  It has influenced each and every nook and cranny of the characters I play and create in my writing.  I’m very grateful for this journey.

I am fortunate as well and for this reason I love giving back when I can.  I have dedicated the past eighteen years of my life volunteering. I have served on profession and non-profit boards as well as hosted and worked fundraisers to benefit local underfunded Bay Area non-profits doing good work helping the hungry, the marginalized, seniors, pet adoption and LGBT+ youth.

It’s all about balance.  Personally, I love listing to audio books, watching anything and everything and cooking.  Whether it’s cooking a meal for one or an eight course sit down dinner for thirty.  It feeds my soul.
